Living room with pale sofa, open metal staircase, lit display cabinet and marble counter

On the ground floor of this duplex apartment, the renovation brought the social areas together and kept the client’s piano. Removing walls joined living room, dining room and kitchen into a single space. The existing dark wood staircase guided the choice of materials: the light oak joinery offsets its presence, and the white marble island with golden veining sits at the center of the open kitchen.
